Local Exchange Service Rating System

With Local Exchange Service (LES) Rating you can now rate and bill local calls on a 'per call' and/or 'measured' (duration) basis! Build customer loyalty by offering such things as discounted rates for high volume customers or use variable pricing for different line types such as Internet or T1 lines.

The table driven design of the LES Rating System allows you to define and offer new service plans quickly and customize plans by subscriber line.

When doing a new installation service order simply select one of the user defined 'Service Types' on the Additional Information Screen. Or easily create a new 'Service Type'. This highly flexible system will even allow you to not assign a 'Service Type' to make calls unratable or dropped for service plans that include complimentary additional lines etc. Then specify if you would like to have Measured and/or Per Call detail appear on the subscribers statement.

Service Types

'Service Types' are the core of the LES Rating System. Each subscriber line is assigned a user defined 'Service Type' when the subscriber is installed (ie: ISDN50 = ISDN 50 Free Hours Package).

When a message is recorded, the Switch will determine whether the call is to be rated as Per Call or 'Measured'. LES Rating will then rate the calls the switch determines are local calls. The 'Service Type' will link any local calls to the rate table used to rate for that particular line.

With any 'Service Type' you may specify a number of free calls or minutes for that customer line. The LES Rating Program will only rate the calls after the free minutes or messages are used and will print the details on the subscribers statement. If the number of messages or minutes are used the system will automatically reset at the end of the subscriber's billing cycle.

Rate Tables

When the system rates local calls it will determine the rate table to use based on the 'Service Type' that is assigned to the subscriber and the rate table associated with that particular 'Service Type'. The LES Rating System offers a variety of alternatives for setting up rate tables. Choose to use Flat Discount Rates with or without Rate Steps (mileage bands) or Day/Evening/Night Discount Rates with or with out Rate Steps for each 'Service Type'.
