Table Driven Calling Plans Billing System

If you are planning to be a toll carrier or are currently a toll carrier, this is a must for you!

The Table Driven Calling Plans are designed to give you an edge in producing and getting out your newest and best calling plans in a timely manner.

For instance, your manager starts the weekly meeting with this..."I've decided to add long distance to the slate of options our company is offering customers. To start out with a bang, I want to give customers who sign up an extra incentive, up to 20% off their entire. bill." Of course your manager only wants it to go to those really spending the money so you've decided on a multi-tiered percentage discount plan. Their next statement, "Let's get it out by the next billing statement", of course that is next Wednesday, less than a week and instead of hitting the panic mode, you reply, "we can do that."

Purpose

The Table Driven Calling Plans System gives you the freedom to choose which calling plan(s) you want to run for a set period of time.

An easy setup process lets you quickly and easily get ready for the upcoming changes. Within a matter of minutes you can have your calling plan up and running.

Percentage Discount Plan
The Percentage Discount Plan offers you the choice of a straight or a mulitiered approach. With the tiered approach, you can create an unlimited number of tiers of any dollar amount. The discount is applied after rating occurs and takes a percentage off of the total dollar amount.

Designated Number-Rate per Minute with Free Minutes Plan
Similar to the Price per Minute Plan, the Designated Number-Rate per Minute with Free Minutes Plan is based on dollar usage of calls, beyond the point of free minutes. The difference is the total minutes comes from on eor more 'favorite' numbers. You can specify a number of free minutes offered to a selected number. After the free minutes are used, tiered levels will be used for rating.

Rate per Minute by Dollar Amount Plan
The Rate per Minute by Dollar Amount Plan works by looking at the rated minutes after rating is completed. It decieds on what a charge will be per minute based on the total dollar amount of the applicable calls. Also, this plan can be tiered an unlimited number of times.

Designated Exchange-Rate per Minute
The Designated Exchange-Rate per Minute with Free Minutes Plan functions by giving an up front number of free minutes to one or more specified exchanges. When the free minutes are used, you can set up tiered price levels based on dollars spent.

Rerate Plan
The Rerate Plan gives you the ability to easily rerate calls that come in off of the switch or via tape. With this plan simply setup mileage bands and specify the time of day as well as the initial and additional period dollar amounts for rerating. This plan gives you the flexibility to offer your customers a savings off of the base rates and increase revenues by creating and advertising your own customized calling plans.

An added enhancement provides the flexibility to rerate a subscriber's toll with one particular rate table up to a maximum number of minutes. Once the specified number of minutes has been exceeded, the plan will rerate calls with another rate table. Additionally, if the subscriber's rerated toll reaches a maximum dollar amount before the maximum number of minutes has been reached, the plan will not calculate any additional cost until the subscriber exceeds the maximum number of minutes.

Rate per Minute by Minutes Used Plan
The Rate per Minute by Minutes Used Plan offers you the same multitiered approach based on a total number of minutes used. For example, the first 60 minutes per month will be free, 60 to 90 minutes: 10 cents, 90 to 120 minutes: 20 cents, etc. The discount is calculated based on the total number of minutes used.

Functionality

Direct Dial minutes are always included in a calling plan calculations but you can also choose whether to include operator assistance calls, operator complete calls, directory assistance calls, calling card calls, international calls, and to choose which jurisdiction(s) to include.
The discount is shown on statements by giving the original amount, the discount rate, the amount discounted, and the new total amount.
Specify both an effective date and a terminate date.
Two lists are created: the Setup List shows all setup field entries and the Calculation List shows all call totals by user and jurisdiction.
Like current QDS calling plans, the original toll is never changes, the process occurs in a separate file after the initial rating is completed.
For calling plans that include multiple exchanges to be set up, easily duplicate an exchange with a similar setup and make appropriate changes.
