Toll Polling System
The Toll Polling System operates in a Windows full color, mouse "point & click" environment. It retrieves toll messages collected by a wide range of switches and electronically transmits the messages into the central IBM AS/400 computer. The system then creates a toll tape in a standard LAMA format, ready for rating. QDS also provides a LAMA utility function which easily catches and corrects tape related errors before the actual rating begins.
Multiple Site Polling
The Toll Polling System supports virtually all types of switches, protocols and record formats. It can easily poll single or multiple data collection sites. For companies with more than one site which records calls, the Toll Polling System provides a location list which displays the common name for each site. For sites with suitable hardware configurations, automatic dialing will poll from the first data collection site upon a given date and time without a system operator present.
Polling Modes
The Toll Polling System supports three polling modes; "Poll All", "Poll Partial", and "Repoll". "Poll All" mode transfers all call records which have not been marked as previously transferred, "Poll Partial" mode transfers only those records specified to transfer, and "Repoll" mode retransmits selected record blocks. When the polling process ends, the system generates a detailed report which displays record blocks sent, block status, and toll count received and recorded on tape. Once the polling is completed, you can assign the system to start rating.
Unattended Polling
Unattended Toll Polling allows you to run polling before or after work hours. This helps to keep your AS/400 running at top speed during business hours and also lets employees use their time more efficiently. Simply set a date and time for the polling process to start. Polling will continue until finished. Another feature of Unattended Toll Polling is that you have the program automatically go into rating after the polling is completed. Again one less process taking up AS/400 capacity.
