Wireline Switch Provisioning & Audit
Today, offering a customer centric environment is a necessity for every successful company. With this in mind Quintrex offers the Switch Interface System. The Switch Interface is a POTS Provisioning & Audit program that allows you to expedite the processing of service orders by automatically updating your switch(es) within minutes.
The Switch Interface System interacts with the switch to provide quick turn around time for service orders that update the switch. Update functions include adding and changing phone numbers, line circuits, carrier PICs, features, and disconnecting and reconnecting accounts.
Utilizing the technology the Switch Interface program has to offer improves your relationship with customers by delivering quality services in a timely manner. In a highly competitive industry this ensures that you maintain the advantage with your customers. For example, if a payment is entered on a disconnected account after hours or on the weekend the Switch Interface System can immediately reconnect the account once the service order is saved. No more waiting for the next business day for a technician to travel to the customer site and reconnect service, the system takes care of it for you.
The Update Process
When a service order is saved, and the department routing sequence comes to the Switch Department for completion, the transactions are sent to the switch to process. The Switch Interface can continuously update the switch or you can schedule the system to automatically run the update process periodically throughout the day.
Once the transactions from a service order are updated successfully to the switch, the system completes the routing information in the service order so the next department can complete it portion. If the Switch Department is the last in the routing sequence the Automatic Service Order Close function of the Service Order System can automatically complete the service order after switch is updated.
Communications
With the Switch Interface System the AS/400 sends service order information to the communications server. The communications server then "dials" into the switch or is continuously connected to the switch and runs commands for each of the transactions in a service order.
The communications server runs each command and attempts to update the transactions to the switch. If a transaction update is unsuccessful, an error message is generated and staff on the Switch Interface distribution list on the AS/400 receive the message.
If all transactions for a service order are successfully updated, then the service order routing information for the Switch Department is updated with a Completed Date and Time. The Switch Interface can process the following changes:
. Telephone Number
. Disconnect
. Reconnect
. Subscriber Feature Changes
. Line Circuits
. Carrier PIC Changes
Verification
The Switch Interface System also offers a transaction maintenance program that allows you to review the status of transactions that have been or are scheduled to be sent to the switch.
Easily view pending transactions and successfully completed transactions that have error messages. For transactions that have errors, you can quickly view the error messages, make the needed adjustment and resend the transaction to be reprocessed on the switch.
POTS Audit
The POTS Audit feature of Switch Interface System compares the line circuits, line class, features and carrier PICs for each telephone number in the Quintrex Billing System to what is assigned in the switch.
This two-way audit produces an extremely beneficial report that helps identify features that are currently assigned to a subscriber and are not being billed, ensuring there is no lost revenue for your company.
The audit can be scheduled to run nightly, daily or anytime that is convenient for your company. When the audit is run, discrepancies between the data on the switch and data in the Billing System are listed in an error report for correction.
