Equal Access System
The Equal Access System operates in a Windows full color, mouse "point & click" environment. The system maintains information on subscriber selected long distance carriers or Primary Interchange Carrier (PIC).
The system interprets call information during the rating process to determine whether the calls should be rated for the carrier. If a designated carrier has not contracted with your company to do its rating, the Equal Access System will collect the call data even though the call cannot be rated.
Versatility
The Equal Access System supports both Centralized Equal Access and End Office Equal Access. This has the capability to either add and manually change, or automatically load Customer Carriers (PICS) from a formatted balloting tape. The system prints a Carrier Selections List of PICS in telephone number sequence or in interlata or intralata identification sequence. The system also maintains a history of current and prior subscriber carriers.
Accuracy
The system accumulates originating and terminating access for all carriers, and rates for all carriers. Trunk group numbers identify terminating traffic carriers for the appropriate feature group. The Equal Access System also provides a PIC override capability for 1+0+XXX calls in which the switch-assigned carrier overrides the subscriber carrier PIC.
The Equal Access System retains access data for all calls, regardless of whether complete or incomplete. The system calculates both actual conversion time for subscriber billing and carrier elapsed time, including attempts and non-conversion time, for actual line usage.
