NET Software Developer

Required Skills: VB.NET, Visual Basic .NET, Winforms, SQL, .NET Framework

Quintrex Data Systems, a telecommunications software provider, has an exciting opportunity for a .NET Software Developer.

The Quintrex family of systems is installed in over 20 US states and Canadian provinces at successful and satisfied independent telecommunication companies. With 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, our growing, mid-sized company is undertaking an exciting project to enhance our systems using .NET development.

We are seeking highly motivated, multi-talented and experienced developers who are eager to take on the challenges of new system development. Are you ready to make a real difference?

The position requires 2 or more years of Visual Basic .NET development experience (Microsoft Certification desirable) and a strong working knowledge of SQL and the .NET Framework. Experience in the following areas is desirable, but not required: N-tier applications, XML, Winforms, Internet standard protocols, version control (e.g. Subversion, Team Foundation Server), build automation, unit testing, telecommunications, and iSeries (AS/400) systems.

Unify/Gupta/Centura Programmer

Required Skills: .NET, SQL, .COM, Unify, Gupta, Centura

Quintrex is looking for a highly motivated, multitalented multitalented and experienced developer for Unify programming (aka Gupta and Centura). We are willing to train you if you are already a proven performer and proficient in any .COM and/or .NET language.

The position requires 2 or more years of .COM or .NET development experience and a strong working knowledge of SQL.
Experience in the following areas is desirable, but not required: Unify Team Developer and Team Object Manager 4.1 or later, N-tier applications, XML, unit testing, telecommunications, and working with iSeries (AS/400) back end systems.

 

Web and Windows Programmer

Required Skills: ASP Classic, VBScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ODBC/SQL, VB 6, VB.NET, Visual Basic .Net, SQL, XML, Office interoperability, ASP.net

In this position, you will work with another experienced developer to develop and maintain a variety of Windows and Web based applications which interact with an IBM iSeries server for data and back-end processing.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of many of the following skills/experience and the drive required to learn the rest:

ASP Classic (VBScript), 3-5 years, used daily
HTML/CSS, 1-2 years, used daily
iSeries systems, 1-2 years, used daily
JavaScript, 2-3 years, used daily

iSeries RPG Programmer

Required Skills: RPG IV, CL, iSeries, AS/400, System i, ILE, DB2, SQL

Candidates with 2 or more years of RPG IV and ILE programming experience will thrive in Quintrex's team environment and fast-paced industry.

Previous telecommunications and/or .net framework experience is a plus.

 

 

Support/Installer

Quintrex has an exciting opportunity for dynamic individuals as a Support/Installer to instruct and support clients and staff on the Quintrex systems.

Providing technical assistance in specialized areas of our software, qualified individuals will work directly with the development staff to research and resolve inquiries. Candidates must be outgoing, professional, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office. Experience with billing, accounting or plant related software is a plus but not required. Knowledge of the Telecommunications industry, the IBM i5 and/or other network resources is also desirable. Individuals must be available for moderate (2 weeks per month) travel to client locations to install and train the Quintrex software.

 

Quality Assurance Specialist

Position includes quality assurance testing, documentation and distribution of IBM i5 software releases to clients. Individual should have knowledge of the IBM i5 or its predecessor, the IBM AS/400, application development and testing, and a strong commitment to the delivery of the highest quality software products. Must be detail oriented, and have excellent written and verbal communications skills. The individual will work closely with application developers. Two years experience in software testing and quality assurance procedures required.

Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, you have access to many opportunities. Culturally Cedar Rapids offers Art Museums, Orchestras, Singing Groups, Theatre, and two frequently used concert halls. Educationally, there are 5 colleges/universities within a 40 minute drive including 3 colleges all within city limits. As for children, the Cedar Rapids School System ranks as one of the best school systems nationwide. Sporting activities include the Roughriders Hockey team, Kernels Baseball team and lots of outside parks and trails to use in all seasons for all types of recreations; biking, walking, running, ice skating, cross-country skiing, fishing, swimming, etc. For evening activities, there are plenty of restaurants, night clubs, sporting events, and theaters to keep anyone busy.
